India vs China

China and India are the two neighbour nations having about 37% population of the world. India and China have ruled almost half of the world trade from 15th to the 18th century.This pattern continued till India bacame the part of the British Empire, and Chinese trade was also controlled by England, France and the US. India became independent and China turned to communism in the mid 20th century. After that these both contries began to restruct their economies. In the 21st century the China and India became the world's fastest growing economies and the focus of global trade seemed to be shifting to the east. Let us have a look at the journey of the growth of these two nations over 500 years:
16th Century:
INDIA
As Arab businessmen exported Indian goods to Europe through Red Sea and Mediterranean Sea India's economy had a 24.5% share in the world's income.It was the world's second largest after China. India had a very nice balance in trade by earning gold and silver in exchange to sugar, spices, indigo, carpets etc.
CHINA
Direct trade between China and Europe through Sea began with the portuguese, who rented an outstation at Macau in 1557. Other Europeans follwed them. India and China traded with each other through terrestrial routes.

First Commonwealth games were held in Hamilton, Canada in 1930.Actually Commonwealth games were known as British Empire Games in their starting period.British Empire Games were started by the famous athlete Melville Marks Robinson of Canada in 1930.

Origin Of INDIA

Origin 
 INDIA is home to one of the richest and the most ancient civilizations in the world, which existed over 5,000 years ago. This civilization originated in the Indus River Valley, hence it is known as Indus valley Civilization. It is the origin of many of the ideas, philosophies and movements which have shaped the destiny of mankind. The civilization with its main cities Mohanjodaro and Harappa flourished for over eight centuries. Its people thought to be Dravidians, whose descendants still inhabit the far south of India.

Interesting INDIA

  • India never attacked any country in her last 100000 years of history.
  • When many cultures were only nomadic forest dwellers over 5000 years ago, Indians established Harappan civilization in Sindhu Valley (Indus Valley Civilization)
  • The name 'India' is traced from the River Indus, the valleys around which were the societies of the early settlers "THE ARYANS". The Aryan worshippers referred to the river Indus as the Sindhu.
  • The Persian invaders changed it to the Hindu. The name 'Hindustan' combines Sindhu and Hindu and thus refers to the land of the Hindus.
  • The Chess was invented by Indians.
  • Algebra, Trigonometry and Calculus are studies, which originated in India.
  • The 'Place Value System' and the 'Decimal System' were developed in India in 100 B.C.
